JUNKO IMADA
Born in 1971 in Kumamoto, Japan, Imada begins at the early age of two and continues
until she was 20 years old, to take lessons of classical music, piano and singing.
In 1994 she received the Bachelor degree of pedagogy of art from the University of
Kumamoto. In 1996 she received the master degree of pedagogy from the University of
Kumamoto. In 1997 she received a scholarship and moved to Milan, Italy. In autumn 2000,
she was invited to participate at the “Japanese week” in Heidelberg, Germany. In 2003 she
graduated in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan.
In 2010 she moved to Kumamoto in Japan. Recently she lives and works in Kumamoto.

Milan, November 24th 2008
After my arrival in Italy my work had become lighter and lighter, assuming a more pictorial form or rather being a temporary installation. Now I would like to realize several "sculptural" projects combining different materials such as bronze, drapery, wood etc. The impulse/idea to these projects I got from diverse drawings of my daughter.
